Born on July 3rd in Arecibo, Puerto Rico with a rare and at the time incurable disease called “Chronic Neutropenia”, doctors gave Konflik only a slim chance at life. Living with this fatal disease and in hopes of finding a cure before it was too late, Konfliks parents decided to relocate to Chicago, Illinois when he was just a year old. At the age of 8 doctors had found a cure that was still in the testing stage but knew this was hope for a child fighting for his life. He was given treatment and after long and multiple painstaking doctor visits Konflik was cured and given a second chance at life. His second coming enters as a true testament to one that has fought for survival and takes everyday as his last knowing that each breath is a blessing. On the streets of Logan Square, Konflik began to notice and became subject to a lifestyle that a lot like his of dealing with a deadly disease it could also be deadly if not respected. Along with the experiences of a big city life and witnessing the dangers of the “mean streets” as they’re called, a fire began to grow inside him to find a way to express what he saw and deliver a message that no matter what you face there is always a way to turn things around. Through his own culture and upbringing Konflik was shown and knew that music could be and always was a great vessel used to carry a message to everyone and anyone willing to listen so he took his love of Hip Hop and began to paint pictures with words to describe what was going on around him. His gift began to show as he delivered his messages captivating audiences with a unique style and humble presence. Realizing that he could take his talents and reach an even broader audience by entering the music business, Konflik decided to take his experiences and structure them in a way that could reach further than just the streets he grew up on. With that he began on his first project “Birth”, a name he felt summed up his near death experience that gave him a second chance as well as the need of new life in a genre riddled with harsh stereotypes. Konflik describes Birth as being, “a musical blend of distinctive sounds with explosive vivid lyrics, a poetic picture that many can personally relate to.” His dream is to change the mindsets of those easily influenced by a crime orientated, politically corrupted city and offer a different perspective to his hometown. A living example of the word “Miracle”, Konfliks new “Birth” gives symbols of faith, beliefs, and willpower to those lost in what may seem an endless cycle. To help them through the tough times, teach them to r emain humble and grateful for the ability to be alive and enjoy the times that lie thereafter.
